Years ago whilst working at the Rolls Royce plant my Friay morning trip to work took me by Stanley Common. My work collegues from all around the Derby area would give me their orders for Black Pudding. Back then Goerge himself would be serving, a treat in itself. The puddings then and today live up to their renowned standdar of spicy flavour, texture and colour. I now live in the US and when home at my parents regulalrly request Black pudding.

After reading Rick Steins article about Staffords black pudding we travelled to Derby to buy some. While waiting we tried some of the sample pork pie on the counter, it was so good we we took some home and now all of the nieghbours are asking us to bring them some on our next visit along with some of his black pudding which is the best English pudding I have ever tasted!

First experienced this delicacy in a mixed grill at my local. Have to say it is the nicest black pudding I've ever eaten: taste, texture and flavour are phenomenal. (Have just been given four portions by my daughter for Christmas - thanks, Nichola.)

This has to be the best black pudding that we have tasted, and it is also the best that customers of Cheesebox, our shop in Haslemere in Surry have tasted!
